I would need to take a thin slice of this tube at one given position, and export it to STL format again (to simulate kind of a curtain inside the tube).

I have been working exclusively with NX Siemens up until now, but it seems that this program is unable to create solid bodies from an STL file (only a facet body with which I cannot do anything).

Does anyone have advice on which (free) program I could use to get this task done?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Nick
