Hello KimberlyW2012, have you tried inserting the file at the point 0,0,0 and not copy/paste a part of it ?
Maybe the X,Y,Z are important.

I am having trouble with copying a topography from one CAD drawing to another. I have tried everything and the only thing that I found to work was exploding the topo.
