here at the company I work for they have that set-up on the Structural side I will see if I can make a breakdown of exactly what is needed (Macro wise) and such to see if I can get you pointed in the right direction. Might take me a day or two to get back to you on this forum.

Hey,

I couldn't really think how to title this, but basically, I have seen add-ons for CAD (I don't have a great knowledge, I'm a civil engineering student with some CAD experience) where you can just click a button and it will insert a standard I-beam.

Last year as part of a summer job, I assembled a grid of all the standard drawings they used in highways, with a corresponding spreadsheet so they could just go in and copy the drawing they need into their current drawing.

I am lucky enough to be going back to the same department this summer and I'd quite like to take this idea a bit further by adding something similar to the thing I described previously, like if they clicked a kerbs button then they'd get a selection of standard kerbs and then it'd just insert that drawing.

There are 2 minor flaws in that I have no idea how it's done, if it's difficult, and I have no idea how to find out.

Could someone give me some advice as to where I'd find out about this kind of thing?
