There is normally only one solution here - hardware upgrade.  Generally if your file is this big, you have a lot of detail, stuff like fillets, chamfers, bolts, nuts, washers, etc.  You have to decide which of these you want to show and which can be dumped.  The more surface there are, the bigger the file, the longer the crunch time for a render.....the more performance is required from your pc.  I use a 4 gig ram machine, 256 mb Nvidia graphics card, 2.8 ghz cpu, and on a  file 50mb and larger it still takes a long time to render.
 
Also things like surface textures, lighting and materials make the render heavier.

I think the problem to render that drawing is not the size of the File,  it could be that the drawing is too close, try to zoom in the drawing in the viewport, and then render it, see what happen.

hi 
 
 
i've done 3d drawing in autocad 2010.but the size of that drawing abt 71mb.am not able to even render that drawing.any one can tell me the tip to reduce the file size of that 3d drawing.
all replies are welcome....
  
some one says scale down the drawing from centimeter to mm.
i've done that too.after that the size was 48mb.but still have the problem to render.can anyone tell me the helpful tip to reduce the size..
