I've had both AMD and Intel, both seem to work fine. I've never noticed any difference.

Memory and HDD capacity make a difference.
Video, dedicated, is certainly a +++.

I have read the discussion and I want to post another question. I will buy a labtop with ATI Radeon HD 4570 graphic card, and I am wondering if that fits with the autodesk programs (such as 3D MAX).

You can find many good CPU models in both families. I am looking at building a computer. I've seen some people say that AMD is better and some people have said Intel is better for AutCAD Civil 3D.

The two I was looking at are the Intel Core i7 and the AMD Phenom x4.
