    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.cadforum.cz/forum_en/member_profile.asp?PF=90012">e_grlz</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 3172<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 11.Feb.2010 at 20:05<br /><br />Can anyone help me convert a Solidworks file to an AutoCAD file?&nbsp; I contract work for the DOD and I have a 3D building that is in AutoCAD (it needs to stay an AutoCAD file, I can't convert it to another software).&nbsp; My contractor that designs my furniture and office equipment does so in Solidworks.&nbsp; I need to "import" his files into my drawing so that I can render a final image.&nbsp; I downloaded the IGES and STL import from SYCODE.&nbsp; The STL import worked however, the file isn't really usable.&nbsp; I imported a desk phone, a small simple file, and it coverted it to 90,000 faces.&nbsp; It's not edittable and I can't even move it because the system freezes since there's so many faces.&nbsp; I tried importing a desk and AutoCAD froze and shut down.&nbsp; I have plenty of space on my computer so that's not the issue.&nbsp; Does anyone have any suggestions or know how I can import a Solidworks file without it creating thousands of faces?&nbsp; The mesh option didn't seem to work either.]]>
