Help is always ready to show you what you already know. I would check out video tutorials on youtube...or simply widen your search across the net. Either way, good luck!

    Author: PavolK
Subject: 3341
Posted: 11.Mar.2010 at 20:24

I have created simple 4bar linkage for mountain bike with coil shock in there. There is a mate constraint between axes of shock piston and shock body. In Dyn.Sim. environment I specified -76mm value for Position of Translational DOF of this constraint. However, if I specify 0mm for Max. value in Boundaries for this DOF, it is ignored at all. Simulation goes beyound this point pushing the coil unrealistically.
If there was possibility to specify stroke of the coil spring of Spring Joint I wouldn't have to solve things like this.

Also, I have one more question. Why does the Images value on Simulation Panel make simulation to perform differently for different Images values? If I don't change Final time value on Simulation Panel, why is simulation performed differently for Images=8 and Images=100 ? It's weird.

O, and I'm using Inventor 2008 Professional. If these are known defects, are they solved in Inventor 2010? Thanks for any help. Pavol
