Fun, oh wow! Pdf to dxf, to dwg, a tough call but, does work.
 
I often use the conversion when time pressed, works. Yes, drawing over is frequent.
 
Re-doin' text often but, again, the conversion'll get you going in a pinch.

I would say get adobe. Then you have full access to add multiple pages, jpegs, word docs, ect. Or, if all you need is to make a pdf and be done, you can get freeware from many different companys and do like tankman said. Edit anything however, if the *.pdf was created from within AutoCAD great!
 
You will have to scale the new *.dxf drawing, save to *.dwg and start cleaning your drawing.
 
Conversions aren't great but, a great help when in a pinch!
I wouldn't survive without a *.pdf to *.dxf, save to *.dwg and I'm off to the races. An excellent tool which you will appreciate having.

A free trial is available online for much newer versions.
