This web site has been online for 11 years, offering the best in free  AutoCAD tutorials and training for new and experienced users. The lessons are adapted from a 4 level course I developed for new AutoCAD users. Originally, the tutorials were deigned for Release 14 and have now been updated and adapted for AutoCAD 2010 and will work fine for 2011. My approach has always been to teach the commands in their context and in a natural progression. Each tutorial also has a quiz to help students review - and most have videos. The older lessons for R14, 2001,  (as well as the current 2010) are available on . The lessons contained on these pages have helped many people learn AutoCAD - not just here, but in schools, universities, tech colleges around the world.

Draw with polyline command and use AREA  command.

Dear All.
I just barely know AutoCAD. I am constructing a house and I have an outline of the house and I need to calculate the covered area. I have all the measurements of the boundaries available but I do not have the EXACT angles. 

I asked a friend to calculate the area and he helped me out but his calculations are quite less than what I expected. 

Can someone here compute and tell me the approximate area of the polygon that is in the following image:
