in AutoCAD P&ID, the annotation is a separate block and can be placed while inserting the symbol, you just need to flag the option after assigning the tag when the object is inserted.

Before adding a non-intelligent block to the p&id toolpalette it needs to be converted to a an intelligent symbol.

The symbol along with its attributes should be a single block in my opinion. Create the symbol. Create the attribute(s). Then create a block and select the symbol followed by the attribute(s). Insert as required. You can drag/drop symbols from your converted drawing (I'm assuming that is what you have) to the desired place on the palette. What do you mean you converted to the blocks you need? I'll take a guess and say your boss doesn't have AutoCAD P&ID but you do. He created some blocks that are similar to those that came standard with AutoCAD P&ID and you swapped one for the other. Right?

You say you pick your blocks from a pallet and they come in with the attribute ready to be filled in. Your "new" blocks don't do this. Are these "new" blocks something you created for the first time in AutoCAD P&ID? And you say they have attributes but you are not prompted to fill in the attributes when you insert one of these "new" blocks. Do I have this right as well?

Well I certainly didn't understand that description, but I'll take a guess on a solution anyway...

Make sure your ATTREQ os set to 1. Check/set that by typing "attreq" on the command line.

hi all i hope to get help here cause my boss cant.first i get his cad dwg and convert to all the blocks i need but how do i get to pick the block from my pallet and the attribut/tag box dosnt appear.if i pick one that is allready loaded it asks for the tag etc.i want that to happen with my new blocks.can you /anybody help
