I run AutoCAD LT 2010. So far I have determined it is because all the mtext was set for dynamic columns (I didn't create the drawing). Bottom line is I need to replace all the mtext with no columns. Biggest question now is why did it all change to such a narrow width? It was fine then I inserted a block (scaled 1:1) into model space and then the troubles started. If it's as simple as the no columns...great! Please let us know what software ( Autocad , Revit ... ) and what release ( 2000 , 2008 , 2010 ... ) you are using.

I have a drawing with 3 different scale vports (3/32", 1/4", 1:1). The width of my text was fine until I inserted a 1:1 keyplan into model space. (I need to freeze/thaw different areas so it had to be in model for the different tabs/sheets).

Here's the problem. I lost the width on all my mtext! Instead of the 14' +/- width it had in model space it is all now 4"!!! Even worse, upon fixing it, as soon as I close and reopen the drawing it is back to the 4" width! The text is annotative in the dwg.

Anyone seen this before...and have a clue how to corect?
