    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.cadforum.cz/forum_en/member_profile.asp?PF=165260">John Connor</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 6926<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 24.Nov.2011 at 01:00<br /><br />Unless your OS version is 64-bit you will not be able to double the amount of physical RAM.&nbsp; You could max out at 4GB running the 32-bit version but you would have to edit your boot.ini file to run the /3GB switch (doucmented by both Microsoft and AutoCAD).<br><br>Virtual memory should be 2.5 to 3X the amount of physical RAM installed.<br><br>Both the Min and max values of your virtual memory setting need to be set at the same value.<br><br>Run the Windows Cleanup utility and also delete all AutoCAD BAK, ERR, and orphan DWL files.&nbsp; Then do a defrag.<br><br>Please verify if your OS and software are 32-bit, 64-bit or a combination (ex.     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.cadforum.cz/forum_en/member_profile.asp?PF=165260">John Connor</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 6926<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 22.Nov.2011 at 12:12<br /><br />What are your system specs?&nbsp; <br><br>How much physical RAM is installed?<br><br>What is the capacity of your hard drive?<br><br>How much free space is left on your hard drive?<br><br>When was the last time you cleaned up your hard drive of extraneous files&nbsp; and defragmented it?<br><br>What OS are you running?<br><br>What version of AutoCAD are you running?<br><br>My guess is that you have a minimum amount of physical RAM (maybe 2GB?) and that your virtual memory settings are such that Windows is having trouble paging out data to the swap file.&nbsp; Like I said, it is just a guess.&nbsp; Won't know for sure until you answer all the questions.<br>]]>
