What you have downloaded are hatch definition files. 

You can create your own master hatch pattern file and put all your new definition files inside it or, as some people do, add them to the acad.pat file.

No matter which method you use make sure AutoCAD knows where to find them by editing the path in Options > Files and Folders.

I down loaded some hatch patterns, and I get codes of numbers and/or letters of the hatch pattern. How do I use or what steps or procedures do I follow so I can use those codes to use or implement the hatch patter in my drawing? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
