From what I saw in the online documentation, DoubleCAD XT can open DWG files and save/export to SketchUp file format.  So even if all he has is the free version of SketchUp he has a work-around with DoubleCAD XT.

Hi John, I opened a new drawing, opened blocks/new folder,located file in downloads, and BAM, there they were in blocks. perhaps I was just burnt-out from cramming 12 hr. in shop then 4 hr every night learning  to co-ordinate 3 different cad programs to be able to generate G-Code for my soon to be in the shop CNC, ether the ShopBot PRSalpha, or a Thermwood Cabinet Shop 43. Yeah, my response was only limited to the capabilities of SketchUp vs SketchUP PRO.  I don't know anything about those other programs so I kept silent on them.
 
But of the SketchUp versions, only PRO has the ability to work with DWG files.  So if all you have is the free version of it you're out of luck.
 
As to other programs with 3D capabilities, and access to DWG files, I leave that to those with more experience than me to answer.

What version of DoubleCAD do you have?

Maybe it has something to do with the version of AutoCAD the block was created in.  If it came after your release of DoubleCAD then I would expect you would have a problem opening the DWG file.

John, I have SketchUp 8=free. I need to use these blocks in doublecad as well, to modify and export to SketchUp after. I cannot open in doublecad.What I do
is ,I am a small Custom Cabinet Shop,and am working my way up to purchasing a CNC but am on a learning curve [ 2 ] years now. I need to get there ASAP.

My guess is you should have no problem using the blocks in DoubleCAD.

What version number of Sketchup are you running?  And is it the Freebie or Pro?

I have no experience with eCabinets but I would think there would be no need to download cabinets into a program that creates custom cabinets to begin with.

John,thank-you for responding. I downloaded blocks from www.Cadforum/catalog of blocks/Architecture=Kitchen cabinets.
base _cabinets_1.dwg for one, also others from site in same format.
