    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.cadforum.cz/forum_en/member_profile.asp?PF=175428">philippe JOSEPH</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 7981<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 18.Jun.2012 at 08:13<br /><br />Hello, I'm using AutoCAD2008 + Mechnanical and I think that I can answer you question.<DIV>You are working in 3D and you are trying to project a point on a surface ( OK ? ). if yes there are two possibilities :</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>-1- You draw a line comming from your point "1", perpendicular to your surface "1" and going towards&nbsp;your surface "2" and passing trough it.</DIV><DIV>Then you draw a line "in" your surface "2" ( anywhere ).</DIV><DIV>In that viewpoint and with an UCS set with "view" AutoCAD will allow you shortenning your lines without them touching themself ( the better is to shorten the two and verify the distance between them and it will be : X:0.000 , Y:0.000 , Z:238.596 for example).</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>-2-&nbsp; You draw a line comming from your point "1", perpendicular to your surface "1" and going towards&nbsp;your surface "2" and passing trough it.<DIV>Then you draw a line comming from any point of your surface "2" and perpendicular to your first line and it will be point "2".</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>In any case in 3D it's better to work with a 3D view.</DIV><DIV>Use the "ID" command to have the information on the X,Y,Z coordonates of tyour points, copy/paste the values from the command line to a text or use the automatic block "VertID.dwg" that you can find in the "CAD blocks" right here in the site.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Ask for more...&nbsp;</DIV></DIV>]]>
