Hi All

I am trying to generate a solid CAD model from a custom surface definition, such as B-splines surfaces. Is there a tool where I can write code to generate my own B-spline surface (from scratch down to every detail), and use that exact surface definition to output a solid CAD model? Similar to something that is obtained in software like NX/Solidworks..

Thanks,
Archak

Hello Archaiser, I don't know if AutoCAD can create "smoothed" solid directly from a custom surface.
Maybe Inventor would be a better choise because it looks like more NX/Solidworks.
More of this AutoCAD doesn't work like the 2 others.
AutoCAD would be more for common steel work with square/round pipes generated under a hydraulic press along plies than "automotive" smoothed surfaces.
On the other hand you can generate sweeped solid from a surface to an other or by sweeping a surface along a path.
Eventually, see my AutoCAD file  : 3D SOLIDS 01.dwg in the CAD/BIM Blocs library here in the site.

Eventually, place here an example of your work for us to help more efficiently.

It may be quite difficult to create B-Splines but both AutoCAD and Inventor can do this (via API).

An example of generated 3D objects (meshes):

OK Vladimir, and is it possible to easily create solids from meshes?
In fact I have a complicated 3D object ( my file WORKER 01.dwg in the CAD/BIM Blocks ) that I want to pass to Solidworks and NX but as it's only a mesh ( I supose ) nothing goes to Solid or NX but the helmet that I did in real 3D solid ( and I haven't suceeded in "saving" all my AutoCAD 3D models to NX ).
