Matthew Bell is a Global Strategic Partnerships Manager in Autodesk Education. Recently, Matthew shared some great news.

The Airbus Foundation Discovery Space, in partnership with Autodesk, is now live. This includes an official press release with a launch video with interviews with Tom Enders, Airbus CEO, and Mary Hope McQuiston, VP Autodesk Educational Experience (AEX). The partnership with the Airbus Foundation has been a collaboration between AEX, the Autodesk Foundation, and the Autodesk Worldwide Field Operations teams.

The Airbus Foundation Discovery Space is a digital portal with educational animations and interactive aerospace-themed lessons in 3D design, to inspire students to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers. This presents an opportunity for young people around the world to create designs in Tinkercad and Fusion 360, complete Instructables projects, as well as enter the latest Design for Industry Challenge: Design for Space Travel.

What's Next?

  • The Airbus Foundation is committed to funding the project for the next 5 years.
  • The European Space Agency will become an additional partner in October to create content associated with living on the moon.
  • Autodesk is helping Airbus mobilize their more than 134K global employee base with the development of a toolkit to drive outreach to schools within their communities, based on the Discovery Space content.
  • Both organizations will work to drive marketing efforts around World Space Week from October 4th to October 10th.

Thanks, Matthew.

Autodesk has always been an automation company, and today more than ever that means helping people make more things, better things, with less; more and better in terms of increasing efficiency, performance, quality, and innovation; less in terms of time, resources, and negative impacts (e.g., social, environmental). Partnerships like this help further that mission. After all, space is the final frontier.

Space discovery is alive in the lab.
