Hi all, We (as a company) are running in some problems. We use Inventor for our 3D engineering. And use AutoCAD for our 2D layout work. The 3D files are saved as .ipt and .iam files (of course). There is also a generator that makes 3D .pdf, .stp and .dwf files. We also use Inventor, with substitutes, for the 3D layout. These 3D layouts are exported as 3D .pdf files and as .dwf files. However, once a layout has about 4 to 6 machines the .pdf and .dwf can't be opened anymore because they are to 'heavy' for the software. The hardware isn't the problem with I9-9900k and Ryzen 4800H systems. Beside this, making those substitutes also costs a lot of time and effort. What software do you guys (and girls) use, or recommend, as layout software? How can we show 3D models and layouts to our customers so that they can view them easily without giving them to much information? Is Autodesk Factory Design the right tool? Is it normal that 3D .pdf files are not usable as soon as it is a machine with around 300 unique items?
