Hello,

I don't know if I'm being too ambitious or getting ahead of myself but I have been working in engineering/ construction for nearly 8 years now working on the tools with HVAC units/ managing and installing access metalwork and steelwork structures and most recently working in odour control/ ventilation systems.
I have adopted CAD daily throughout my career and have become pretty confident with the software albeit 2D CAD (slight exposure to 3D/ Tekla/ Solid edge), I am looking to venture deeper into 3D when I have spare time to do so.

My intentions are to eventually set up and run a design company but I want to do some hefty research before doing so (I've been playing with this idea for a year or so now in my head).

I was hoping for any sort of help/ advise on how to proceed, potential ways to penetrate the market for small- medium scale companies, what to look out for/ avoid and just complete honesty from all members.

Any help/ advise would be massively appreciated no matter how blunt/ to the point it is.

Thanks
JR
