Hey everyone, how's it going,

I know this is most likely an obvious question, and I'm sorry, but I have searched the threads, and not been able to find the answer I need. So here goes:

I just got AutoCAD for my home computer, and I'm not sure what resolution I should set the screen 2 be (It's one of those old screens, before the flat screen came out). I have tried a few different settings, but different parts of CAD keep getting cut off at the edges, like I won't be able to see half of a menu I have open, and my screen will be black at the corner where the menu should be?

What's everyone's screen set on??

Thanks in advance.

Screen Res is going to be a personal preference.  I always set it at the highest that the monitor can handle the resize the program window to cover all but my first row of desktop icons, so I have easy access to the the main windows icons (My desktop, IE, mail, recycle bin, etc.).

Oh, I had no idea it was a preference.

I thought CAD reset the screen automatically when you installed it, but I'll fool around with it, and see if I can fix the way it looks.

Thanks for your input.

If anyone else wants to take a look at your screen resolution, and let me know I'd appreciate it.

All you need to do is right click on the desktop away from any icons and select "Settings" and then choose your screen res.

Please note that for some AutoCAD versions - e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D - it is advisable to use larger screen resolutions (with more than 1280 pixels), otherwise the main menu is spread to multiple lines.
