Explode texts in AutoCAD and save as R12 DXF then import them in your Program.

Morning. I have tried various texts, but i can not seem to explode them.
I am quite new to autocad and just wondered if there is a bolt on programme for us to use, for those people who ask for letters cut into sheet plate e.g  gates / signs.
