Can't SURFSCULPT after EXPLODE

Hi everyone!

So my issue is pretty much described by the title 

I tried to eliminate rubbish and "artefacts" from the object and used 'explode' function for it.
But I can't recover the object after exploding even if I try to recover it right away even without any changes.

I try to recover it by 'surfsculpt' function.
But autocad insists that it 'cannot find impenetrable content' (it's actually my loose translation from Russian of what it says, but I hope it's understandable).
But I can't see any holes in the surface!

So could anyone help me with it - how do I recover the object after exploding?

Let me guess.  A short time after you exploded the object you saved your drawing right?  And you failed to keep a copy of the object or the underlying geometry on a separate (frozen) layer right?  Do you have AutoCAD set to create a .BAK file every time you save a drawing?

Upload a copy of the drawing to the CAD Blocks area so we can see what you are dealing with.

Hi John!
I have both files - with exploded and with unexploded one.

The issue is that I want to exlode it, delete artefacts and recover, but I can't even explode it and apply surfsculpt function - autocad won't let me, as after explosion holes appear in the surface of the object.

On the drawing that is NOT exploded, circle these "artefacts" you want to delete then upload the drawing.

OK...where did you go?  I don't see a new upload file from you so what's up?

Did you fix the problem on your own?

Were you unable to upload the drawing due to a file size limitation?

Or did you just give up and start over?

I can't help you if you won't provide a copy of the drawing.  If it is too large you can always use a file sharing service like Dropbox.

Here are the drawings - one in the grid view, and one realistic.

In the grid you can see the unwanted circle (the red arrow points to it) - that's the "artefact" that causes all this fuss and won't let me continue working on the object.

In the realistic view it's for some reason invisible.

Dude...I need a copy of the actual drawing file.  A jpeg is of no use to me.  You might as well be asking me to fix a flat tyre on your car while it is in the U.K. and I'm in the U.S.  It ain't going to happen.

It almost looks like you somehow got a piece of 2D geometry stuck in your 3D model but I'm not 100% sure since when you look at it in a Conceptual or Realistic visual style the circle doesn't show up.  It's like it is there but it isn't.  How did you do that?

I see that when the object is exploded you end up with 128 separate surfaces and upon closer examination one can see several "holes" in the model that would somehow have to be filled before you could even attempt to use the SURFSCULPT command.  Even then I think the command might fail as all it takes is one tiny void to stop the command from completing.

How was the model constructed in the first place?  What program was used?

OK...regarding this jpeg and the red circle it points to:

I have been able to eliminate the circle.  What else needs to be fixed?

Alright, seems you disappeared again.  Got to be at least a five hour time difference between the east coast of the U.S. and wherever you are in the U.K. assuming that's really where you are.  You're not in Russia are you?  It could be evening then right?

John, thank you so so much!
I don't know exactly in what program the model was created, I assume it might be one of SolidEdge versions.
Unfortunately currently I can't get in touch with the person who created it, so I have to edit it myself.

I think you could guess I'm not a native English speaker :) I'm actually Belarusian currently residing and working in the UK.

Could you prompt me on how you managed to delete 2D geometry from the model?

Might have been created in SolidEdge?  You should have mentioned that in your first post.  Why didn't you go to the SolidEdge website and ask for help in their forum?

Just about anything one does with the model using a solids editing tool in AutoCAD will make the circle disappear as far as I can tell.  You failed to tell us what else in the model needs to be fixed.  Your reluctance to fully answer any and all questions is just slowing things down.

In the future, when you have a problem you would like help with please provide ALL the information you possibly can in your very FIRST post.  We can never really have too much information as long as it is pertinent.

I took a closer look at your 3D model after doing exactly what you did, explode it, and I found many irregularities with it.  In some places there are gaps in the geometry and in other places there appears to be extra lines incorporated into the surfaces.  My assessment is that the translation from SolidEdge to AutoCAD was flawed and there is no easy way to salvage the model.  Either work in SolidEdge with the original or figure out another way to reproduce the model in AutoCAD which may prove to be equally frustrating to do.  Sorry.

All these days I've been trying to modify the model for further working on it, but I didn't manage to do it.
I've tried autocad, solidedge and other programs in trial versions.
I need to perform boolean operations, but all the programs say there's an error.
Could you suggest anything else?
