Could somebody explain how to array along an path using the divide/measure commands with block/align. I can find the suggestion of using these commands everywhere but no actual explanation.

I need an explicit explaination if anybody would be kind enough. I can do/understand the following:

-Creating blocks
 
-How to array along a straight line

-How to array radially

keystroke by keystroke if possible, how would I go about arraying a block around an elliptical path?

Well I worked it out. It's pretty dang simple actually but having never done it before I was stumped. This is how you array along a path.

I needed to use the "MEASURE" command which arrays the blocks at a distance from one and other which you enter as part of the process. If you wanted to divide the path into a number of segments, and then array the blocks at the points at which the path divides, then use "DIVIDE". It works in the same way, only you choose the number of segments to split the path into as opposed to the length of each segment.
 
1. Create the block, the thing you want to array
 
2. Draw the path, for example, an ellipse.
 
3. command: MEASURE
a. Select the object which forms the path <enter>
b. type "b" (for block) <enter>
c. type the name of the block you want to array <enter>
d. type or leave "y" in to align the block against the object <enter>
e. type the desired length of segment <enter>
