SketchUp Blocks are large.  .DWG Blocks created by SketchUp are huge.  Is there a - what's the best - way to convert a SketchUp Block to .DWG?  AutoCAD?  Or ...

You can export from Sketchup Pro in either DWG or DXF file format.

Yes, I can do that.  HAVE done that.  But the Blocks - I"m using S/U PRO - they're more-than-huge.

Granted, that AutoCAD is *better* than is SketchUP.  Granted, that AutoCAD saves .DWG Blocks efficiently - with/in a (relatively) very small size. (Granted also that similar Blocks from, say, Revit (and Inventor?) are smaller, even smaller yet.) Granted, that SketchUp Blocks, when ***saved as .DWG Blocks***, are very, very large - in fact, huge!

Question:  Is there a way - which software should I use - to convert these SketchUp Blocks into small .DWG Blocks (as 'small', more or less, as if these Blocks had originally been created in/under AutoCAD, or Revit [or perhaps Inventor])?

You guys/gals know A LOT more than I do, and I appreciate your insight(s), your help.

How huge is huge?  What is a typical file size?

What if you exploded the block then ran the OVERKILL command on it?  Does that reduce the file size?

I don't know of any magic AutoCAD command that will instantaneously reduce the size of a block brought in from Sketchup.
