Hi

I have been working on AutoCAD for many years.

I am currently running AutoCAD 2013

I am working using another firms x-ref's. When I brought in their x-ref, it triggered 'Constraints', I have stayed away from using them as they are hard to get rid of....sure enough, I cannot get rid of them. I find them very hard to work with, of course my deadline is very tight. I have found that they are now present in all my drawings, even drawings generated here. I suspect it is a setting gone awry. I can find temporary relief using delconstraint, but that only lasts a minute. I want to get rid of them altogether until I have time to figure out how to work with them properly.

CAn anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks and Merry Christmas

Look on your Status Bar.  The icon furthest to the left should be the one labeled "Infer Constraints".  Toggle it OFF.
