AutoCAD 2012

I've created a dimension style which is fine, except for the fact that the text, although the correct size is drawn in a wider line width, so it looks bold. The only way I can alter it is after a dimension is inserted in the drawing and then I change the line width from 0.30 to 0.09

The text style for the dimension is a style used in the drawing where it displays correctly.

Why will the text not display correctly in dimensions - what am I missing?

Thanks,
Lee

There is noting in the dimension style dialog box pertaining to lineweight.  Are you sure you specified the correct Text Style?

Are your dimensions on a layer that has a lineweight assigned to it?

Thanks for quick response.

Yes I'm sure the text style is correct...

Your second observation was correct... the current line width on the drawing is set to 0.30 but of course when I select an existing dimension it's set at 0.09  I've now set the layer line width to 0.09 and new dimensions show correctly.

Dumb question as it turns out, but really appreciate your help.
