Hello All,
     I am new to forums so please excuse my ignorance. I have made a 3D drawing in model space but don't know how to plot a multi-port plot with separate dimensions in each view port. I am drawing in ver-2007.Any help will be greatly appreciated.(AutoCad or Forums) [:s]

AutoCAD 2007?

Switch to paper space.  Set up the required number of viewports.  Establish your views (top, front, side and maybe an isometric).  Assign a scale to each (should probably be the same scale).  Make sure your dimensions are set to be "associative" then dimension everything in paper space and not in model space.

Or you could use the combination of two commands SOLVIEW and SOLDRAW to create 2D views of your 3D model in paper space then dimension those views.

Hello capntski, if you want to put dimensions that are to be seen on your 3D view you will have to put that dimensions on your 3D model in the model space and open the 2D viewports + launch the command LAYER to freeze that dimension layer in each of the 2D viewports.
Ask for more informations if needed because puting dimensions on a 3D object can be "fun".

Putting dimensions on 3D objects in model space can also be a PITA.

OK I knew that you wouldn't like the way to put dimensions directly on the 3D object in the model space but how to do it an other way if you want to show and dimension only 3D views ?
Please see the latest file that I have uploaded in the site : TEP_3D_LIGHT 1 GB.dwg.

I do it all in my layout.  No dims or text in model space.
