Converting "Block Reference Dwgs" to "Face Dwgs" so as to use the "Thicken" command.

Yes, Solidworks gives two and three dimensional views. This is so accurate then drawing individual lines in Autocad.

3D objects can be created in AutoCAD as well and the 2D views extracted from the model. Hence the model is the basis for all truth.
