Create a block for your library using the WBLOCK command. Create it on Layer 0 so that when inserted the block will take on the color and the linetype of the layer the block is inserted on. When asked to specify a basepoint use your OSnaps to pick on part of the block geometry. Don't use 0,0 as a basepoint for your block.
This is all explained in the AutoCAD Help file.
