I see that DraftSight does have some 3D capability. I have a simple drawing for a metal bag dispenser I would like to turn into a 3D model in DraftSight if I can.
 Anyone know how?
thanks in advance

If you are talking about Dassault's 2D CAD program called Draftsight then you are mistaken.  It is not true 3D.  I would not waste my time.  There is a free version of SketchUp that you might find useful.
