scale before drawing

hi, im not a newbie with regards to autodad drafting but i just dont know how to get it started when starting a drawing. i need somebody to help me how to set up a scale in the model space before drafting an object. example, i want to draw a rectangle with dimensions 42,000mm x 52,000mm but the object is too huge for me to see the whole object. can you please help me with this. tnx so much

Welcome to CADFORUM.
 
When you are ready to draw it is better to start from a template Drawing ex:acadiso.dwt or ect.
 
For it  use  Zoom toolbar .
