Hody! I'm interested in using Revit structure. But i would like to know something first. My work is to design timber structure wall, floor, roof panels. We I thinking of using 3D modeling program but we can't find suitable program. What should the program do generally. It should be able to draw entire house in 3D. It
should be able to generate construction figures automatically(in the
same platform) and count all the materials so i do not have to draw
everything in AutoCAD and count all the materials by hand. Is it possible using Revit structure? Thanks, M

With Revit Structure, if you create the timber parts as families, then yes, it will count all the parts and pieces for you, provided you can work the proper schedule parameters. It should also be able to check your load calculations with whatever type of structural analysis software you're currently using. Revit Structure is compatible with several analysis programs on the market. Your best bet is to talk to a reseller than has a Revit Structure Application Engineer to get the best answers.
------------- Give a man AutoCad, and he'll draw you a floor plan.
Give a man Revit and he'll build you a house.
