Hello Ralston21, do you want to "re-insert" an XREF into a file where it is and make it like it was a normal block? You can't insert a file ( to become a Block inside your file ) if it's already an XREF inside it but you can launch a command that will "transform" your XREF into a normal block. You do this generally to "store" a file with XREF at the end of a project so that you "secure" the file for example. Tell us more.

hmm i just got interested in that command that you just said earlier (transform my xref into a normal block) what command is it sir philippe?

Hello again Ralston21, you will have to use the command -XREF and use one of the options under it. I'm sorry but my AutoCAD release is in French so I just can't help you more but it should be the second after : -1- ? ( list of the XREF ) -2- Bind -3- Detach -4- path -5- download -6- Reload -7- Overlay -8- Attach -9- Scale , etc... In any case, launch the help ( F1 ) and type : XREF , -XREF , _XREF and print everything for you to read away from the AutoCAD environement.

Hello again Ralston, first I'm not a "sir" but I'm OK with this. For Ctrl-P I think that it's the quicker that you can get ( in any software ) and P is already used for the command PAN in AutoCAD. Have a nice day and yes you can ask all the question that you want, you are welcomed. For the rest I would recommend to download the PDF file of the AutoCAD 2012 commands that should have a name like : AutoCAD_2012_command-ref_enu_v2[1].pdf ( search it on the internet ). previously this files were in you disk (C), I don't know now.
