I am unable to save dwg files in Civil 3D an "out of memory" error shows up followed by the following msg:
 
AutoCAD Alert
AutoCAD cannot continue. You can attempt to save changes into the following file up to the start of the last command:
Drawing3_recover.dwg
 
After you save your changes, you can open or recover the file. Should AutoCAD try to save your changes
 
 
This after I do the recover command and click yes...it does this for multiple files in multiple directories.
