I am using Autocad LT 2017. I am using a batting line as a symbol for flex duct. When I go to the layout tab so that I am able to print the batting it comes out as a straight line. How can I get it to show correctly?

Sounds like a linetype scaling problem.  Suggested linetype scales per system variable...

MSLTSCALE = 1
LTSCALE = 0.5
PSLTSCALE = 1

I set everything to those and it still did not work.

Then it must have something to do with the linetype scale of the individual line that you have drawn or you thought you used a batting linetype but in reality used a continuous linetype.  One way to check is via the Properties palette or via the List command.
