I downloaded a CAD file from a trusted site (Architect Firm) and am having difficulty working with it. The commands lag up 30 seconds before responding. I have AutoCAD LT 2014 and can open the files but commands take too long to respond.

What is the file size?
What are the specs of your computer?
Have you tried cleaning up the drawing with such commands as Overkill, -Purge (Regapps first followed by "All") then finish up with Audit (to fix database errors)?
Is the scalelist bloated?
Are there too many layer filters?
Did you check what linetypes are loaded to see if any of them bear the letters DGN somewhere in their name?
What have you done to troubleshoot the problem?
Are you on a networked workstation or a standalone computer?

Hi John. Thank you. I did some purging and that seems to have done the trick. The drawing is now responding and I can work with it freely. I appreciate your quick reply. Thanks again.
