I have problem with the scale of the layout.

For ex., I determine the Acad units as "meter", then draw a 10x10m square.
Into an A4 paper, I make a viewport with that square (command "MV"). Set the scale of the viewport to 1:100 but the square becomes soooo small that its invisible.

It should become 10m->10cm,
what is that I did wrong? :)

Hello Nico_Cad, I have tried to set a viewport with your metric settings but as I work in millimeters my file here enclosed maybe not perfect ( but it works ).
I have set the scale of the viewport to 10XP.

In any case you will have to draw your formats in the model space A4 to A0 and open viewports of the equal dimensions in the
layout space, do some tests to set your viewport scales.

When you use layout to print, you have to set real dimensions for viewport. It means that you must enter 10000 unit in model to shown a value of 10m. In layout you set a viewport of 297 x 210mm and scale 1:100.
Good luck.

Hi,

Linhwru is right, in the metric system it is the best to draft 1 on 1 (in milimeters).
So put your units back to milimeters and for a line of 10 meters enter 10000 (=10000 mm) in model space just as Linhwru mentioned.
Now you can scale your vports in paper space with the correct scale.

helo nico, it maybe hard at first, but basically i was taught with somebody, i tried it and it really works. i hope it can help you too.
first thing i did was, i select and click the mv, the four grips appeard, then you can right click to look for the properties.
there in properties  you can see the miscellaneaous; then choose the CUSTOM found at standard scale; @ CUSTOM SCALE , just simply type .394 for 1:100 scale.

but take note, you can only use this when you are in layout paper space not in model space.
thank you.
