Hello, I'm new to the forum, I'm a student and I take this opportunity to greet you and ask you my questions and see if anyone can help me solve it, the question is:

I have a 3D model of a metal structure made with the help of Advance Steel, I need to generate the blueprints of that model but for more than I searched on the internet and in video tutorials I can not generate them, the last option that I have is to try to make them in Autocad generating the views, but my problem is that when I select the object it does not detect me as solid and therefore I can not generate the views, someone knows if there is a command or some way to convert that object into a solid or a Block to be able to manipulate it like I want?

I really hope someone can help me and thank you for your time.

If your model is a 3D mesh, there is a chance to convert it to a solid. But if it is only a wireframe, there is no automated way.

Thanks for your answer and maybe it's very obvious or it sounds very silly my question, but I'm not very familiar with the program,  how can i check if my model is a mesh?  ..

The question was, "How can I check if my model is a mesh?"  Do you have an answer or are you just here to talk about how much you like mesh models?

Hello Al4n_rdz, when in AutoCAD launch the command LIST on one of your 3D objects and get the answer of what the entity is.
If it's a 3D "volumic" object the answer should be : 3DSOLID
If it's a 3D wireframe or an other thing the answer should be 3DFACES or 3DMESH
On the other hand I think that you can dimension 3D wireframe directly in 3D.
Please tell me ( us ) your method to generate your views ( on AutoCAD ).
"essayons" non, instead let us try and succeed.
