Hi everyone,
I'm looking for the System variables, or similar, to be able to search a layer by typing the first letter name in the layer drop down.

I know it can be able because in another computer I can do that .
I'm working on pc (win8) on autocad2011.

Thank you for all your help!

You want to search for a layer via the command line?

Look in the lower left hand corner of your screen.  There should be a symbol that looks like an open end box wrench.  Click on it.  On the flyout menu select Input Settings.  Now make sure that Search Content is enabled.

Thanks mate, but unfortunately I do not have a wrench (my version must be earlier)

I've tried DSETTINGS command and OPTIONS menu, but I didn't find.

The variable is INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS.  I'm not sure when this feature was first introduced.  If it doesn't work in your version then you are out of luck.
