My question is a 2 part question.

I have a drawing that when plotted to PDF it "flattens" when plotted and pretty much locks up at 28% or 43%. There are no "transparent" blocks, layers, etc.

However, there are 4 xclipped external references. I have successfully bound the external references. so I have a standalone drawing. However, the XCLIP's remain.

Other information:
Tried AutoCAD 2018/2019, Civil 3D AECtoAcad to remove any AEC objects.
If I use DWG to PDF the resulting PDF 2,059 KB, and if I use Bluebeam its 3,143 KB. The Cad file is 2,097 KB.

My questions are:

Could XCLIPS cause the drawing to require "flattening"
Can the XCLIPPED information be trimmed and removed?

Thanks in advance.
