i want my drawing area to be 96" x 48" but am having trouble doing it. when i go to the drawing limits and enter o,o for bottom left, and 96",48" for top right it doesn't seem to work. when i move the cursor around, the bottom left isn't even close to 0,0. it's in the 100' range. the actual 0,0 plot is way off screen. how do i fix this???? i'm using autodesk 2009 btw.

If you want it for printing, use Layout and there set up the paper size.
For drawing in model space a can't see the reason for limits setting up (command [CMD]LIMITS[/CMD] isn't used a lot and it has scarcely any effect)... Why do you want to have such drawing area?

well, I'm not sure if I understand the issue, but you could try to draw a rectangle with sides of your choice (96x48), than go to Tools, Move UCS, select the corner where you want to have 0,0,0. Done

i need that screen size because i'm using this program for drafting cabinet components and a standard sheet of plywood is 48" x 96". it's just odd that when you place the curser exactly on the ucs, it's nowhere close to 0,0. so the problem is that if i set drawing limts to 0,0 and 96,48, i cant draw anything because my drawing limits are way off screen. its as if the ucs has a default location that it won't move out of. sooooooo frustrated!!

I am not sure I understand you well, but for exact drafting you can use [CMD]SNAP[/CMD], [CMD]OSNAP[/CMD] or entering coordinates via command line. ORTO mode is useful too, and GRID to ON while LIMITS is ON may help your orientation in drawing.
For disabling drafting out of set LIMITS use [CMD]LIMITS[/CMD] -> ON.

alright i found the solution! once you specify the upper right corner, the final step is to go file\zoom\all.
