Hello Everyone,

How do I attach aerial photography to a 3D topographical survey so that the aerial photography will attach itself to the 3D survey and look like a real landscape?

If anyone out there knows I would love to hear from you

Under Civil 3D 2008 the command is image drape and I believe it is under the general toolbar.  Been awhile since I have done that at work.

Hey,
You might want to check out www.wavgen.com - they have terramapper software so you can load, model and render maps and textures in a variety of programs. I have used it to animate resolutions of the earth, its really simple and efficient.

Definitely saved me a lot of time and energy!

The DrapeImage in Civil 3D is enough to apply an image to a 3D surface model. See the tip:

Drape Image in Civil 3D surely works, but textures are getting more and more heavy and stitching things together is a pain. You need to check out WavGen Terramapper Pro and test,. test, test....

It allows you to load, model and render unlimited raster (textures) and uv maps.

Pretty cool. We are using it for a variety of wood grain, building facad, earth textures (grass, aerial photo's etc).
