In mechanical engineering it's sometimes necessary to dimension two items, like a circle and a corner feature from a common corner. It appears that they are on the same line and would be the same dimension, but maybe not.

A way to assure that they have different dimensions is to use a tool to put a jog in one of the extension lines to bypass the one feature and align with the other. Then I can dimension them both.

Many CAD programs have this feature but it seems Autocad does not. At least in the full 2008 and 2009 LT I have. My current customer requires their work done in LT. I can always draw "stick" dimensions, that is, draw the extension line as a jog using three lines, dimension to that, and modify the dimension text.

Anyone know how to do this in 2009 LT?
