Hi guys,

I need your help!!!
I downloaded a cad file (.DXF multi format) from internet. I use AutoCAD 2002 but when i open this file there is the message: "the file is currently in use or is read-only. Would you like to open the file read-only?" I press "yes" and then AutoCAD writes "improper the entry name LUCE.1 on line.86. Invalid or incomplete DXF input-drawing discarded." and it doesn't open!!!
I don't know what happens?Confused
what is DXF multi format???
Can anyone help me??

Thanks!!!!

It is probably a file in a different file format (just the same extension). There is no "multi format" for AutoCAD DXF files.

Thanks for the reply Vladimir!!Smile

Maybe you have right! This model i downloaded http://www.fallingpixel.com/3d-models/11061 - http://www.fallingpixel.com/3d-models/11061
i opened .3ds!
3ds is the same with .dxf? Is there any difference?

I'm not familiar with CAD!! I need this file to be exported to .sat, to open with CFD programs!! But when i export .3ds there is a message that says the items i selected are not solids!

Do you have any idea?

Thanks friend!!!

I see - the "multi format" refers to that the DXF format is usable in multiple appliactions. Both DXF and 3DS files are Autodesk formats and they should be readable in AutoCAD.
