Hi Folks.

I wonder if anyone could please help me here. I am currently using Inventor 2008, and when I create a Parts List on my drawing, I want to create a customised field giving me the overall sizes for a part. When you create a part (in sketch mode), the dimensions are given a name ie: d0, d1, d2 etc. Now for example d0 and d1 would give me my overall length and width. How can I create an expression under iProperties, that will save it to my parts list?

Basically I want to create a cut list ie: L x W x H working off of my dimension details, so that if I change a dimension it will automatically change the cut size on the Parts List table. I have done this previously on Solidworks and it worked excellent.

What kind of parts are you talking about?  If its steel sections or piping you can get cutting lists as part of your BOM.
