Hi guys,

I have recently purchased a new laptop with windows 7. it has a 64bit operating system. This is all well and good until i found that i could not install autoCAD 2008 or 09Cry. i use cad every day of the week!!!!

I have used XP all along and heard of Vista not being able to run CAD but i was assured that windows 7 would pose no such problems. Angry

Is there anyone out there that could offer me some advise on how to work around this problem?

ThanksSmile

Mike, there are two things - AutoCAD Win7 compatibility and AutoCAD 64-bit version.

Both AutoCAD 2008 and 2009 are available as native 64-bit applications (see your installation media). Only AutoCAD 2010 is officially supported in the new Windows 7 (older versions were released before Win7 was available), but you should be able to install and use AutoCAD 2009 (64-bit) in Windows 7 64-bit.

The Tip 7044 can help you further.
