How can an active command from a third party drawing be canceled/or settings be reset to cancel the command.
It is most probably an utility that they use, when opening the drawings something wants to do something.

There may be an embedded macro if some action is occurring when you open it. If so, there should have been a warning upon opening about allowing/enabling macro or similar.

Could you please tell me how to get rid of that specific macro!

It depends on what mechanism is used to start that macro. It may be embedded in the drawing (VBA macros only, can be disabled through Alt+F8 > Options) or loaded on your computer (APPLOAD Startup Suite, ACAD.MNL, ACAD.LSP, etc.).

Thanks, tried, but no macros could be found, apparently it is some 3d piping vlx program/add-on that they are using that are causing such havoc.

Thanks for all the replies anyway!!

What works for me in these sitiuations is to simply call whomever sent you the files and tell them to re-send them in R12.dxf.
Probabally aint what your looking for...
