I am having trouble with the properties pallette. When I open it the pallette is blank and also sideways. Could any one please tell me how to correct this problem.

Can you left-click on it and drag it with the mouse to the left-hand side of the screen and release the button when the new "outline" appears?
 
Also, how are you calling up the window in the first place?
