G'day gang.

just a 2 minor questions.

background.

I use lofts when I am model tubing structures, for bends odd shapes and the like.

The file sizes seem to be very large of these simple pieces. for example

I lofted a simple pipe with 6 bends and the same pipe using donuts.

Lofted size is 1,309kb

Donut size is 167kb.

For a usual structure I have a large number of pipes and bends.

I am terrible when it comes to modelling 3d pipe bends using donuts, so

Q1: How do I reduce the file size while using lofts?

Q2: Is there a more an efficient way to 3d model pipes?

Thanks for your time

Cheers

TG

The tip:

may help you in reducing the DWG file size.

There are both AutoCAD add-ons and more suitable tools for designing pipes and fitting - e.g. Inventor Professional.
