Hi there,
My first post on here. If I tell what I'm hoping to achieve maybe someone could give me a few pointers.

I'd like to run a batch program that opens a set of drawings, on-by-one, and extracts the attributes of a few specific blocks.

The set of drawings ideally should be selectable (similar to when publishing drawings), but could just be all the drawings in a given directory.

The export file type isn't important at the moment (I can sort out the finer details later). Eventually though, I will want to bring all the exported data into one Excel file to run some kind of comparison check (again, I can sort that out later).

I'm running AutoCAD 2005 on XP.

I'm sure I managed to do something like this over ten years ago but haven't needed to since then, so I've forgotten how.

Any pointers would be appreciated. I'd rather not be told to just buy a third party program though.

Cheers,

YP

This functionality is included in the DATAEXTRACTION command in AutoCAD 2008.
